Honey Buns




Honey Filling


  1. Scald milk.
  2. Remove from heat
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons sugar, the salt and 2 tablespoons butter
  4. Cool to lukewarm
  5. Meanwhile, dissolve yeast in lukewarm water
  6. Sift together corn flakes cereal and 1 cup of flour
  7. Add scalded milk mixture and yeast
  8. Mix well
  9. Beat in egg and raisins
  10. Gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough, mixing well
  11. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease surface
  12. Cover lightly with tea towel
  13. Let rise in warm place until dough has doubled in volume (1 1/2 to 2 hours)
  14. Punch dough down
  15. On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 14 x 10 inch rectangle
  16. Brush with 1 tablespoon butter
  17. Sprinkle with a mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon.
  18. Starting with shorter end, roll up lengthwise, jelly roll fashion.
  19. Seal edge
  20. Cut into 10 1-inch slices
  21. Set aside
  22. For honey topping melt 2 tablespoons butter
  23. Stir in honey, 2 tablespoons sugar and the nuts
  24. Spread evenly in 8-inch round cake pan
  25. Arrange rolls, cut side down, over honey mixture
  26. Cover lightly
  27. Let rise in warm place until dough has doubled in volume (30 to 40 minutes)
  28. Bake in oven at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) about 20 minutes or until lightly browned
  29. Remove from oven
  30. Invert on serving plate
